Introspection

It’s been many years since I was sent into this world. Yesterday I was counting the days and hours which have passed over, and the different stations of my life from childhood to this adult age. A flash of memories passed through my mind, making me ponder what I have accomplished yet? Living for more than 9000 days on this Earth, where have I spent my time and doing what. Most of our lives pass by going to school, college, university, and workplace. And a few bits of fun and entertainment, things where we find pleasure and temporary joy. But hardly do we take some time to understand where it all begins and why are we sent on this Earth. Is it just to enjoy, build things for ourselves, cultivate wealth for ourselves and our children, and finally leave empty hands (Death) where? Exhausting ourselves day and night, passing through all the struggles and pains, facing the harshness and challenges of this world.. to gain what? Power, Might, Wealth, Possessions, Childrens.. etc?

For every second, minute, and hour passes by, and the more conscious I become. It makes me think about the works and little I have collected in my life of knowledge, wisdom and faith. As we live a life which is not defined and guaranted by the days and hours we live. Let’s make sure we spend a good amount of time in connecting with our Creator, Knowing more about him – His Attributes, Works, Power, Strenght, Might, Mercy, Likes and Dislikes, and do things that will take us closer to him.

From past few days, I decided to slow down and ponder on different aspects of my life. And how to get better in it. And reach to the level of Ehsan (Excellence). And the best way to start is from introspecting about our life and gaining insights and knowledge from the learned & righteous Scholars of Islam. Indeed until death is not decreed on us, there are always chances to improve and get better. And reach closer to our Rabb!

May Allah (S.W.T.) make us of those who are mindful of him, and grant us his special blessings, mercy and guidance. And forgive us for our shortcomings, and help us to move forward with firm faith and believe in him! Ameen
