Welcoming the blessed Month πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

Dear Ramadhan,
This year, more than any other, I approach you with humility.
I do not come with a mile long to-do list, with a set of goals, gorgeous journals .
I come to you as heavy-hearted slave, empty-handed, barefoot and broken.
I am in need of Allah’s generosity in this month.
I am in need of Allah’s mercy in this month.
I am in need of Allah’s forgiveness in this month.
Without it, I am lost, lost and alone.

O Allah, help me cling to Your Rope this Ramadhan. Ease the pain of remembering what is no more, calm the fear of what is yet to come.
Bless me with tranquility and serenity.
Bless my mind with good, hopeful thoughts.
Bless my tongue with your remembrance and words of love and truth.
Bless my eyes with clarity and positivity.
Bless my hands with care and purpose.
But, most of all, bless me with awareness: awareness that this du’a could be my last, that I may not meet Ramadhan, that this Ramadhan could be my last, that You could call back any of my loved ones, that all this could be taken away and I will be left as I am now: a heavy-hearted slave, empty-handed, barefoot and broken.

Ahlan, Ramadhan.
Let the healing begin.
